Nigeria Customs Service, Kaduna Area Command, recorded N14.6bn in revenue collections in the final quarter of 2025, reflecting a significant improvement in performance compared with the same period a year earlier.
The command said the figure represents a 35 per cent increase over the N10.8bn generated in the last quarter of 2024, translating to an additional N3.8bn in revenue.
In a statement, the Public Relations Officer of the command, Dauda Adamu, attributed the stronger performance to improved operational efficiency and the commitment of officers across key units. He said the result underscored the command’s contribution to federal revenue mobilisation and broader economic growth.
A breakdown of collections showed steady monthly performance during the period under review. Revenue stood at N5.1bn in October, dipped to N3.8bn in November, and rose sharply to N5.6bn in December, marking the highest monthly intake for the quarter.
According to the command, sustained engagement with traders and local communities, alongside stricter enforcement of fiscal regulations, helped to boost compliance and reduce revenue leakages. Adamu said collaboration with other service units also played a key role in improving toll and duty collections.
He noted that intelligence-driven operations and enhanced monitoring contributed to the outcome, particularly through the activities of the compliance and reconnaissance teams. Support from specialised units such as Customs Intelligence, Valuation and the Customs Police Unit further strengthened enforcement efforts.
The spokesperson said morale among officers had improved significantly due to backing from the service’s management, adding that motivation and operational support were critical to sustaining performance.
The command said its achievements align with the reform agenda of the Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, whose policy focus on consolidation, collaboration and innovation has shaped recent operational outcomes across the service.
Adamu thanked stakeholders for timely payment of duties and urged continued cooperation, assuring them that the command remains committed to transparent operations under the Nigerian Customs Service Act, 2023.
The Kaduna Area Command, a key operational unit of the Nigeria Customs Service, oversees customs administration, revenue generation, trade facilitation and anti-smuggling activities across Kaduna State and adjoining areas. Its strategic location positions it as a major hub for customs operations linking northern Nigeria with southern ports.
