On December 9, 2024, JMG Limited (JMG) completed the installation of a solar-power system at the CMS Bariga Primary Health Care Centre in Lagos. The upgraded electrical setup helps keep medical equipment, refrigeration units and lights running around the clock, especially vital for vaccine storage and emergency care. The project was commissioned with dignitaries including Vice-Chairman of Bariga Local Government Hon. Zainab Kuponiyi, the Permanent Secretary of Lagos State Ministry of Health Dr. Olusegun Ogboye and JMG’s Group General Manager, Rabi Jammal.

As part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) drive, JMG underscored its belief that we are not just providing energy; we are creating a legacy of hope, progress, and empowerment. The health centre’s staff complement of nearly 60 professionals now benefit from a more dependable power source, reducing downtime and the risks associated with power cuts.

JMG plans to replicate similar solar-energy projects in other primary health-care facilities across Nigeria, reinforcing a vision of sustainability and improved service reliability.

By replacing diesel-powered backup and erratic grid supply with solar energy, this project cuts operating costs and shields the health centre from fuel-price volatility. Wider adoption at scale could unlock cost savings, attract investment in solar-services and boost local industry growth in Nigeria’s renewable-energy sector.
