Aliko Dangote has expressed strong confidence that the Dangote Group can achieve its ambitious target of generating $100 billion in annual revenue by 2030.

The billionaire businessman said the company’s internal financial projections and business models have strengthened management’s belief that the target is realistic and achievable.

Dangote made the disclosure during a visit by senior executives of Goldman Sachs to the Dangote industrial complex in Lagos. The delegation toured the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals, Dangote Fertiliser and other supporting facilities operated by the group.

The Goldman Sachs delegation was led by Anthony Gutman, Co-Chief Executive Officer of Goldman Sachs International and Global Co-Head of Investment Banking.

According to Dangote, the $100 billion revenue projection was developed using conservative assumptions. He explained that the company’s internal analysis had not only supported the existing target but had also encouraged management to consider more ambitious growth plans beyond 2030.

The Dangote Group has invested heavily in large-scale projects across Nigeria, particularly in the oil and gas, petrochemical, fertiliser and cement industries.

One of its biggest investments is the Dangote Petroleum Refinery, which has a stated capacity of 700,000 barrels of crude oil per day. The refinery is designed to reduce Nigeria’s dependence on imported petroleum products while creating opportunities for exports.

Dangote also pointed to the recent private placement involving the refinery as another indication of confidence in the company’s future. He said the strong participation of employees in the investment showed that people within the organisation also believe in the long-term growth prospects of the business.

He stressed that the group’s current investments should not be seen as the final stage of its expansion plans.

According to him, the company intends to look beyond 2030 by exploring fresh investments, acquisitions and opportunities that can increase its presence in different markets.

Dangote said the scale of the industrial complex is difficult to fully understand without seeing it physically. He described the existing projects as only the beginning of a much bigger growth journey.

The Goldman Sachs executives also praised the scale and quality of the Dangote projects after completing their tour.

They described the refinery and surrounding industrial facilities as impressive, highlighting the ambition behind the projects and the organisation’s workforce.

The visit reflects growing international interest in the Dangote Group and its large-scale investments in Nigeria.

With operations spanning several major industries, the company is positioning itself for further expansion as it works towards its $100 billion annual revenue ambition.

If achieved, the target would represent a major milestone for the group and would further strengthen the position of a Nigerian-owned company in the global business landscape.
