Dangote Petroleum Refinery has raised the gantry price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), or petrol, from ₦1,265 to ₦1,350 per litre, effective Saturday, September 12, 2026. The change was contained in a circular issued by the refinery’s Group Commercial Operations on Friday, September 11, and reported on September 12.

The ₦85 increase is 6.7 per cent. It is the refinery’s fourth upward adjustment since August 21, taking the total increase to ₦185, or 15.9 per cent. The refinery had raised the price from ₦1,165 to ₦1,185 per litre on August 21, to ₦1,200 on August 26, and to ₦1,265 on August 29.

The circular also revised the coastal delivery price from ₦1,669,545 to ₦1,783,530 per metric tonne. It directed customers to return all ATCs (the allocation documents used for product loading) for repricing and said loading would resume under the revised terms.

The increase comes as international crude prices remain elevated amid supply concerns linked to the conflict involving the United States and Iran and disruptions around major oil-shipping routes. Brent crude climbed to around $109 per barrel earlier on Friday, September 11, before falling to about $104.4 a barrel by the close of trading, according to Brent crude price data. The report did not name the data provider.

The Major Energies Marketers Association of Nigeria (MEMAN) estimated the landing cost of petrol at ₦1,311.36 per litre as of September 8, 2026. At ₦1,350 per litre, Dangote Refinery’s new gantry price is ₦38.64 above that September 8 estimate. The two figures reflect different market points and are not direct equivalents.

The adjustment is expected to raise wholesale and replacement costs across the downstream market. Retail pump prices will continue to vary by location, logistics costs and individual marketers.
