Geregu Power Plc, a leading Nigerian electricity generator, has reported a pre-tax profit of N41.98 billion ($29.53 million) for the 2025 fiscal year under the leadership of Nigerian businessman Abdulaziz Yari.
The company’s revenue surged to N184 billion ($130.17 million), driven by energy sales and capacity charges.
Despite higher expenses, the company maintained a strong financial performance, with earnings per share at N10.9 ($0.00766) and a proposed dividend of N9 ($0.00771) per share.
Geregu Power, founded in 2006, has been a key player in Nigeria’s energy sector.
The company was listed on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) in 2022, becoming the first publicly listed electricity generation company in Nigeria.
MA’AM Energy, controlled by Yari, acquired a 77% stake in Geregu Power in 2025.
The company’s strong financials reflect its importance in Nigeria’s power sector. With total assets of N305 billion ($214.61 million) and shareholders’ equity of N58.63 billion ($41.24 million), Geregu Power is poised for continued growth.
