United Bank for Africa Plc has launched a new Aggregator Sales Structure for its RedPay Point-of-Sale terminals and agency banking network, in a move aimed at expanding financial access and strengthening collaboration with partners across Nigeria.
The initiative was unveiled at the bank’s inaugural UBA Aggregator Engagement Session held at its Lagos headquarters on Tuesday. The event, themed ‘POS-itive Impact: Connecting Agents, Merchants, and Customers’, brought together aggregators, POS partners and network managers to align strategies for scaling the UBAMONI agency banking ecosystem.
Speaking at the session, UBA’s Executive Director Designate for Digital Banking, Emmanuel Lamptey, described the launch as a milestone in widening financial access.
“Today’s session marks a pivotal step in our collective journey to democratise financial access in Nigeria.
By bringing together our valued aggregators and partners, we are strengthening the ecosystem that connects UBA directly to communities and ensuring that reliable financial services are within everyone’s reach.”
The new structure introduces a multi-benefit framework designed to support aggregators in onboarding and managing agents within UBA’s network. It also provides access to incentives, commissions and a dedicated Aggregator Admin Portal that offers real-time visibility into agent transactions and performance.
UBA’s Head of Digital Banking, Shamsideen Fashola, said the framework reflects the bank’s long-term digital ambitions.
“Our aggregators are fundamental to realising our ambition of building Africa’s most impactful digital collections network. This structured framework is designed to be scalable, transparent, and mutually rewarding, empowering our partners with the technology and support needed to drive agent productivity as well as serve underserved communities effectively,” Fashola noted.
According to the bank, the RedPay and UBAMONI platform delivers instant settlement, dependable transaction processing and real-time reporting dashboards. Agents and merchants can also access services such as dispute resolution, terminal management, analytics, card withdrawals, bill payments and pay-with-transfer options.
UBA’s Head of Agency Banking, Adetunji Iyiola, said the rollout is focused on delivering measurable value across the ecosystem.
“This rollout is about creating superior value for every stakeholder and enabling better service delivery to customers while ensuring our partners have the tools and incentives to thrive. It reinforces our promise to deliver essential banking services exactly where they are needed most,” he said.
With the new aggregator framework, UBA is positioning its agency banking network for broader reach, aiming to deepen financial inclusion while strengthening partnerships that connect banking services directly to underserved communities.
