First HoldCo Plc has announced a series of board appointments across its non-commercial banking subsidiaries, following regulatory approvals from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM).

The group said the appointments form part of its strategy to strengthen corporate governance, enhance board oversight, and position its businesses for long-term, sustainable growth.

At First Asset Management Limited, Ebikabo Williams has been appointed Chairman of the Board. She brings extensive experience spanning banking, capital markets, and consulting. She will work alongside board members Usman Dantata Jr., Binta Max Gbinije, and Alero Mobola Adollo, whose collective expertise is expected to reinforce the company’s leadership in Nigeria’s asset and wealth management space.

FirstCap Limited also recorded changes at board level, with Yewande Amusan named Chairman. Amusan is a seasoned finance professional with experience across both the public and private sectors. She will be joined by Ahmed Indimi, Irene Akpofure, Adenike Kuti, and Zeal Akaraiwe.

Meanwhile, First Securities Brokers Limited, recently ranked as the leading stockbroking firm on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) in terms of trading volume and transaction value, appointed John Akpeki as Chairman. Akpeki is expected to leverage his global marketing and networking experience, alongside fellow board members Omolara Adeyemi, Susan Younis, and Kemi Andu-Alausa.

In the trust and estate management segment, First Trustees Limited appointed John Lee as Chairman. Lee has over four decades of experience in global financial services, particularly in corporate and institutional banking and wealth management across Africa. He will serve with Abiola Alabi, Adebisi Sola-Adeyemi, and Ugochukwu Obi-Chukwu.

For its insurance brokerage arm, First Insurance Brokers Limited, which marked its 25th anniversary last year, named Akinola Phillips as Chairman. Other board members include Ije Onejeme, Folukemi Akinmeji, and Mojisola Cardozo.

Commenting on the development, Group Chairman of First HoldCo Plc, Femi Otedola, CON, said the appointments reflect the group’s commitment to building resilient, well-governed businesses that deliver long-term value.

He noted that the calibre of the newly appointed directors would help drive innovation, strengthen stakeholder confidence, and align the subsidiaries with global best practices in corporate governance.
