Beta Glass Plc has appointed Mr. Boye Olusanya as Chairman of its Board of Directors, effective July 30, 2026, following the departure of Dr. Vitus Ezinwa from the board, according to a regulatory filing submitted to the Nigerian Exchange (NGX).

The appointment marks a significant leadership transition for one of Nigeria’s leading glass packaging manufacturers as it seeks to strengthen corporate governance and position itself for long-term growth in an increasingly competitive packaging market.

Olusanya succeeds Ezinwa, who had served as Chairman since 2024. While the company confirmed the leadership change in its NGX filing, it did not disclose the reason for Ezinwa’s exit.

Before his appointment as chairman, Olusanya served as a Non-Executive Director on Beta Glass’ board, giving him familiarity with the company’s operations, governance framework and strategic priorities.

Beyond Beta Glass, Olusanya is the Group Chief Executive Officer of FMN Holdings Limited, the parent company of Flour Mills of Nigeria, one of the country’s largest food and agro-allied groups. His extensive experience in manufacturing, supply chain management, business transformation and corporate leadership is expected to support Beta Glass as it navigates rising production costs, foreign exchange pressures and evolving customer demand.

Industry observers say the appointment could strengthen Beta Glass’ relationships with manufacturers in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector, where demand for high-quality and sustainable glass packaging continues to grow. His experience across Nigeria’s industrial value chain may also provide strategic insights into operational efficiency, customer engagement and long-term investment planning.

The leadership transition comes at a time when manufacturers are facing persistent inflationary pressures, higher energy costs and increased competition, making effective corporate governance and operational discipline increasingly important.

Although the company has not announced any immediate strategic initiatives following the board change, investors are expected to monitor how the new chairman guides Beta Glass’ growth strategy, capital allocation and sustainability agenda.

Beta Glass remains a key supplier of glass packaging solutions to the beverage, pharmaceutical and food industries across Nigeria and parts of West Africa. As consumer goods manufacturers continue investing in premium and environmentally sustainable packaging, the company is well positioned to benefit from rising demand.

The appointment of Olusanya signals Beta Glass’ commitment to leadership continuity and governance stability while reinforcing its ambition to strengthen its position within Nigeria’s manufacturing and packaging ecosystem.
