AVA Capital Set to Join NGX Main Board in Major Growth Milestone

AVA Capital Plc is set to achieve a major milestone as it prepares to be listed on the Main Board of the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) on July 31, 2026, through a listing by introduction.

The move marks a significant step in the company’s growth journey as it transitions into the public market. Rather than raising fresh capital, AVA Capital said the listing is aimed at strengthening its corporate reputation, improving transparency, and expanding its engagement with investors and the wider financial community.

Speaking on the development, the Managing Director of AVA Capital Plc, Olukayode Fadahunsi, described the listing as an important chapter in the company’s history.

According to him, joining the Nigerian Exchange reflects the company’s long-term vision of becoming a stronger and more established financial institution. He explained that AVA Capital is entering the public market with a solid business foundation, an experienced team, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of corporate governance.

Fadahunsi added that becoming a publicly listed company would encourage greater accountability, discipline, and openness, qualities he believes are essential for long-term success.

Unlike an Initial Public Offering (IPO), where companies issue new shares to raise funds, AVA Capital’s admission to the Exchange is a listing by introduction. This means the company will not sell new shares or seek additional capital from investors during the listing process.

Instead, the focus is on increasing the company’s visibility within the capital market while giving existing shareholders an opportunity to trade their shares on the Nigerian Exchange. The listing also positions the company to attract greater attention from institutional and retail investors over time.

AVA Capital has built an integrated financial services business through its subsidiaries, including AVA Global Asset Managers, AVA Securities, and AVA Trustees. Together, these businesses provide investment management, securities trading, trustee services, and other financial solutions to individuals and institutions.

The company disclosed that it structured transactions worth more than ₦500 billion during the 2025/2026 financial year, highlighting its growing presence within Nigeria’s financial services industry.

The listing comes at a time when Nigeria’s capital market is placing greater emphasis on transparency, good corporate governance, and increased participation by indigenous companies.

AVA Capital already meets the Nigerian Exchange’s free-float requirement, with approximately 20 per cent of its issued shares held by investors outside its controlling shareholder group. This satisfies one of the key conditions for admission to the Main Board.

The company believes becoming a listed institution will further strengthen investor confidence while aligning its operations with the disclosure and reporting standards expected of publicly traded companies.

AVA Capital has also continued to expand its presence within Nigeria’s investment market. The group previously celebrated the launch of its AVA Infrastructure Fund with a ceremonial closing gong at the Nigerian Exchange and operates across several regulated financial businesses under the supervision of the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Industry observers say the success of the listing will not be judged by the amount of money raised, since no new shares are being offered. Instead, attention will focus on the company’s ability to create long-term value, maintain strong governance standards, and build lasting relationships with investors.

As Nigeria’s capital market continues to evolve, the listing of indigenous financial institutions like AVA Capital reflects the growing maturity of the country’s financial sector and the increasing importance of transparency, accountability, and sustainable business growth.
