Access Holdings Plc has secured approval from the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) to extend the deadline for filing its interim audited financial statements for the half-year ended June 30, 2026, to September 30.
The financial services group attributed the delay to the ongoing finalisation of its audit and the need to obtain approval from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) before publishing the results to investors. The company disclosed the development in a regulatory filing to the NGX.
Access Holdings said the extension has been approved by the Exchange and allows the group to file its H1 2026 audited results on or before September 30.
The development means investors will have to wait longer for the group’s first-half earnings scorecard, which is expected to provide a clearer picture of its performance, capital position and asset quality during the period.
The delayed results come after a strong opening quarter for Access Holdings.
The group reported a 22.19% increase in profit before tax to N272.21 billion in the first quarter of 2026, compared with N222.78 billion in the same period of 2025. Profit after tax rose 18.49% to N216.54 billion.
Non-interest income, which includes revenue from fees, commissions and other activities outside traditional lending, increased 19.03% to N444.68 billion.
Access Holdings’ official Q1 financial statement confirms the group’s first-quarter reporting and provides the latest published financial baseline ahead of the H1 audited results.
The company also reiterated that its closed period remains in force. The restriction prevents insiders from trading in Access Holdings securities until 24 hours after the H1 2026 audited financial statements are published.
The reporting extension does not, on its own, signal weakness in the group’s financial position. However, investors are likely to scrutinise the eventual results for changes in earnings quality, capital adequacy, loan performance and asset quality.
The latest development also follows a similar reporting delay experienced by Access Holdings in 2025, when the group cited the audit process and regulatory approval requirements.
For investors, the September 30 deadline now sets the next major reporting milestone for one of Nigeria’s largest financial services groups, with attention likely to remain focused on whether its strong first-quarter momentum was sustained through the first half of the year.
