The Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Plc (NAHCO Aviance) has kicked off 2026 with a string of significant contract signings and renewals with both international and regional airlines, reinforcing its position as a leading ground handling service provider in Nigeria and West Africa.
In a recent official statement, NAHCO confirmed that it has renewed long‑term handling contracts with prominent European and African carriers. Among those continuing partnerships are Air France, KLM, and Virgin Atlantic, all major players in global aviation. These renewed contracts will run until 2028, giving NAHCO stable revenue prospects for the next three years.
In addition to renewals with global airlines, the company has also entered fresh contracts with United Nigeria – Regional, Bellagio, and Malaikair. These agreements expand NAHCO’s footprint across different market segments, from international long‑haul flights to regional air travel.
According to Prince Saheed Lasisi, NAHCO’s Group Executive Director for Commercial and Business Development, these deals reflect long‑standing trust in the company’s service quality. With over 46 years of consistent operations, NAHCO says it is well positioned to exceed customer expectations in handling solutions, from passenger services to cargo and ramp operations.
For the airlines involved, partnering with a reliable ground handler like NAHCO ensures smooth turnaround times, efficient baggage and cargo handling, and professional support services for aircraft on the ground. These aspects are critical for maintaining flight schedules, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
Beyond the aviation sector, these contracts matter for the broader Nigerian economy. As NAHCO expands its service portfolio and retains major airline clients, it strengthens the infrastructure supporting air cargo and passenger movement, sectors that help diversify Nigeria’s revenue base beyond oil. Investments in air logistics have been linked to growth in non‑oil exports, especially for perishable goods and value‑added products seeking global markets.
In summary, NAHCO’s latest contract wins build on its track record as a dependable ground handling partner. They provide predictable income streams, enhance Nigeria’s aviation services reputation, and help support wider national economic goals by improving trade logistics and international connectivity.
