The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company has launched its MyPower Mobile and Web applications as part of efforts to make electricity services easier for customers to access and manage remotely.
The digital platform allows customers to purchase electricity tokens, settle postpaid bills, track outages and monitor the progress of complaints and disputes.
Customers can also use the applications to view their energy consumption history, manage multiple meter accounts and update their personal information without visiting AEDC offices.
A key feature of the platform is a staff verification tool that enables customers to confirm the identity of AEDC field personnel before allowing them into their homes or premises.
AEDC Chief Executive Officer, Chijioke Okwuokenye, said the applications were part of the company’s strategy to build a more digitally driven and customer-focused utility.
He said the company was responding to changing customer expectations by using technology to give consumers greater control over how they access electricity services.
The company said the MyPower Mobile App is available through the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, while the web version can be accessed through AEDC’s customer portal.
The launch comes as electricity distribution companies increasingly turn to digital platforms to improve customer engagement, simplify payments and reduce the need for physical visits to service centres.
AEDC operates across the Federal Capital Territory, Kogi, Niger and Nasarawa states.
