The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), in partnership with Mimshack Swift Limited, has commenced a 10-day training programme on scaffolding and rigging for 50 youths in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, as part of efforts to strengthen local technical capacity for Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.

The training, which began on July 13, will run until July 24, 2026, equipping participants with industry-relevant skills required for safe and efficient operations in the oil and gas, construction and maritime sectors.According

According to the organisers, participants will undergo both classroom and hands-on training in scaffolding erection and dismantling, rigging techniques, load calculation, the safe use of lifting equipment, hazard identification and workplace safety standards.

The programme forms part of NCDMB’s ongoing human capital development initiatives aimed at increasing the pool of skilled Nigerian professionals to support the implementation of the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development Act and deepen local participation across the energy value chain.

Management of Mimshack Swift Limited commended NCDMB for the partnership and urged the beneficiaries to take full advantage of the opportunity, noting that the technical skills acquired could improve their employability and create opportunities for entrepreneurship in specialised fields.

Some of the participants expressed appreciation to NCDMB and Mimshack Swift Limited for the initiative, saying the training would enhance their technical competence and enable them to contribute more effectively to safe project execution within the industry.

NCDMB has continued to expand its human capital development programmes through partnerships with industry stakeholders, with recent initiatives covering offshore services, maritime training, project management, data analytics and other specialized technical disciplines required by Nigeria’s energy sector.
