Skyewise Group has announced an investment of more than N9 billion in Edo State, a move the company says reflects its confidence in the state’s economic future and its commitment to supporting development, employment, and youth empowerment.

The announcement was made by the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Skyewise Group, Dr. Elvis Abuyere, during the official commissioning of the company’s newly completed multi-billion-naira corporate headquarters in Benin City.

According to Abuyere, the investment forms part of the company’s broader strategy to expand its operations across several sectors while contributing to the growth of the local economy. He explained that Skyewise Group is involved in various business areas, including investments, loan services, automobiles, real estate, contracts, and youth development initiatives.

Speaking at the event, Abuyere said the company’s commitment to Edo State goes beyond business expansion, emphasizing that the investment is designed to create opportunities for residents and strengthen economic activities across the state.

He noted that more than 100 direct jobs have already been created through the newly commissioned headquarters. In addition, the company’s activities are generating indirect employment opportunities through suppliers, contractors, and other businesses linked to its operations.

Abuyere stated that the investment demonstrates the company’s belief in Edo State’s potential as a destination for business growth and economic development. He added that increased private sector participation would help improve commercial activities and contribute to higher internally generated revenue for the state government.

The Skyewise Group CEO also highlighted the company’s efforts in youth empowerment through its foundation. According to him, over 2,000 young Nigerians have benefited from various empowerment programmes organised by the foundation.

He explained that developing human capital remains a key focus for the company, noting that empowering young people with skills, opportunities, and support is essential for sustainable economic progress.

Looking ahead, Abuyere revealed plans to establish an automobile assembly plant in Edo State. He disclosed that discussions are already underway with the state government regarding a possible partnership to bring the project to reality.

The proposed assembly plant is being developed in collaboration with Chinese partners and is expected to support local vehicle manufacturing. If completed, the project could help reduce Nigeria’s reliance on imported vehicles while boosting industrial activities and creating additional jobs within the state.

Also speaking during the event, Ambassador Usman Sarki, a member of Skyewise Group’s Board of Directors, described the N9 billion investment as a strong indication of investor confidence in Edo State. He said the investment reflects the growing attractiveness of the state’s business environment and development policies.

Representing Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, Deputy Governor Dennis Idahosa praised the company for choosing Edo as a major investment destination. He described the development as a positive endorsement of the state’s economic direction and assured investors of the government’s commitment to maintaining security and implementing policies that encourage private sector growth.

The event concluded with the formal commissioning of Skyewise Group’s new corporate headquarters in Benin City, marking another milestone in the company’s expansion and investment journey in Edo State.
