Adama Coulibaly has highlighted strong economic progress in Côte d’Ivoire while presenting the country’s 2024 external accounts. Speaking at a government event on March 12, the minister said the economy grew by 6 percent in 2024, reflecting the impact of government reforms.

Inflation eased from 4.4 percent in 2023 to 3.5 percent in 2024, while the budget deficit improved to 4 percent of GDP, down from 5.2 percent the previous year. Coulibaly credited the progress to ongoing reforms supported by reliable economic data and stronger statistical systems.

He stressed that quality statistics are essential for effective policymaking and economic planning. The minister also praised officials involved in compiling the external accounts, including leaders at the Central Bank of West African States, noting their role in strengthening transparency and economic management.
