About 1,200 vulnerable children across Delta State have benefited from the ongoing medical outreach of the You Matter Charity Foundation (YMCF), founded by Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, wife of Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
The latest outreach was held on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at Ogbe-Ijoh in Warri South-West Local Government Area, where children living with autism and other special needs received free medical consultations, medication and support items.
Speaking at the event, Deaconess Oborevwori said Warri Federal Constituency was the ninth constituency visited during the current phase of the Foundation’s medical outreach.
She said the Foundation’s visits across Delta State had exposed the difficult realities faced by families caring for children who require specialised healthcare, medication, therapy and assistive support.
According to the Delta First Lady, the 1,200 children reached so far represent an important milestone, but more work is still needed to support vulnerable families.
She said the outreach was not only about providing medicines and materials, but also about listening to families, creating awareness, reducing stigma and restoring hope.
Oborevwori urged communities to reject the stigmatisation of children living with autism and other special needs and called for collective efforts to create an environment where they can learn, grow and participate fully in society.
Speaking on behalf of the three local government councils in Warri Federal Constituency, the Chairman of Warri South-West LGA, Hon. Sylvester Oromoni, pledged continued support for children living with autism and other special needs.
Oromoni, who also spoke on behalf of the Chairmen of Warri South and Warri North LGAs, Comrade Isaac Weyinmi Agbateyiniro and Hon. Festus Ashima, respectively, commended the Foundation for taking the intervention to families in the constituency.
He described the initiative as timely and impactful, saying the welfare of vulnerable children required the collective support of government and communities.
The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, also commended the Foundation for sustaining the outreach.
In his goodwill message, Guwor described the intervention as a practical expression of compassion and pledged the support of the State Assembly for initiatives promoting inclusion and improving the welfare of children with special needs.
Similarly, the Delta State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Solomon Arenyeka, commended the Foundation for responding to the needs of vulnerable children.
The Foundation distributed 30 wheelchairs, 30 educational Android tablets, therapy toys, a smart board and 120 bags of rice to beneficiaries and their families.
The intervention is part of the You Matter Charity Foundation’s wider humanitarian programme aimed at supporting vulnerable children and families across Delta State.
