The management of the Nigeria National League (NNL) on Friday conducted the draw for the 2025/2026 Super 4 competition scheduled to hold at the Remo Stars International Stadium, Ikenne, Ogun State. The draw ceremony took place in Lagos and was attended by key stakeholders including the Director-General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Bukola Olopade; President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Ibrahim Gusau; and Chairman of Remo Stars, Kunle Soname.

The competition, scheduled to run from May 4 to May 8, will open with a fixture between Sporting Lagos and Ranchers Bees. Sporting Lagos are returning to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), while Ranchers Bees are making a comeback to the top flight after an 18-year absence. In the second Matchday 1 fixture, Doma United, also returning to the NPFL, will face debutants Inter Lagos. Matchday 2 will see Ranchers Bees take on Inter Lagos, while Sporting Lagos confront Doma United. Matchday 3 will feature Doma United versus Ranchers Bees, and Inter Lagos battling Sporting Lagos.

Chief Executive Officer of Toptier Sports Management, Chichi Nwoko, announced a prize of N10 million for the winners of the Super Four, while the other three participating teams will receive N2 million each. Nwoko said her company was committed to repositioning the league and enhancing its competitiveness. “Our ambition for the league is clear, as reflected in the prize money and other incentives,” she said. Former Nigerian internationals including Victor Ikpeba and Daniel Amokachi graced the occasion.

From an economic perspective, the Super 4 competition represents a significant investment in domestic football development. The N10 million prize money provides incentive for clubs to invest in player development and infrastructure, while the television exposure from the event can attract sponsorship and advertising revenue. The timing of the competition, ahead of the new NPFL season, allows promoted teams to test their readiness and build fan engagement. The involvement of private sector partners like Toptier Sports Management signals growing commercial confidence in Nigerian football’s potential to generate returns beyond matchday revenue.
