Legend Internet Plc has been recognised for its strong entry into Nigeria’s capital market, securing the Market Debut Excellence Award at the 2025 NGX Made of Africa Awards organised by the Nigerian Exchange Group.

The honour comes just months after the broadband infrastructure company listed two billion shares on the main board of the Nigerian Exchange at N5.64 per share in April 2025, marking a significant milestone in its corporate journey.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the company described the award as a reflection of investor confidence in its long-term growth plans, governance framework and strategic direction. It noted that the recognition affirms the credibility of its public market debut and signals alignment with high standards across Africa’s capital markets.

Legend’s leadership characterised the achievement as a shared success driven by careful execution, transparency and a culture of innovation. The company added that the award reinforces its commitment to sustainable growth and consistent value creation for shareholders.

Speaking during the ceremony, the Chief Executive Officer, Aisha Abdulaziz, said, “We are truly delighted to receive this award. It reflects the hard work of our team and our unwavering commitment to excellence. More importantly, it serves as both recognition and responsibility, a mandate to sustain this momentum, continue pushing boundaries, and consistently deliver value for our stakeholders in the years ahead.”

The company stated that the recognition strengthens its foundation for the next stage of expansion, as it continues to invest in digital connectivity and technology-driven services aimed at improving access for Nigerians.

Market analysts at Custom Street observed that beyond celebrating a successful listing, the award signals the emergence of a new performance benchmark within the NGX telecommunications services sub-sector.

Legend Internet operates in the broadband space, focusing on last-mile fibre-optic infrastructure including fibre-to-the-home and fibre-to-the-room solutions, alongside an expanding suite of digital services.

The NGX Made of Africa Awards celebrate outstanding listed companies that demonstrate performance, governance and market impact on the Nigerian Exchange.
