First City Monument Bank (FCMB) has partnered with 247 Travels to introduce a new travel financing solution called Book Now, Fly Later, giving eligible customers the opportunity to buy international flight tickets immediately and pay for them in installments.

The new programme allows qualified FCMB customers to borrow up to N10 million to cover the cost of international airline tickets. Customers can repay the loan over a period of three to nine months, making it easier to plan important trips without paying the full fare upfront.

According to a statement released by both organisations, the financing option is designed to support Nigerians travelling for different reasons, including business, education, medical treatment, tourism and family commitments.

The loan is available through FCMB Premium Banking and can only be used to purchase international flight tickets booked through 247 Travels.

FCMB explained that both salaried workers and self-employed customers who meet the bank’s lending requirements are eligible to apply. Successful applicants are expected to receive approval and loan disbursement within 24 working hours, allowing them to secure their travel plans quickly.

The partnership combines FCMB’s financial services with 247 Travels’ flight booking platform to provide customers with a flexible payment option. Instead of paying the full cost of an international ticket at once, travellers can spread the payment over several months.

Speaking on the launch, FCMB Managing Director, Yemisi Edun, said the initiative was created to make travel financing easier and less stressful for customers.

She explained that the bank wants to help people achieve their personal and professional goals without facing unnecessary financial pressure. According to her, the Book Now, Fly Later programme offers customers greater financial flexibility while encouraging responsible money management.

Edun added that the new service reflects FCMB’s commitment to developing innovative financial products and building strategic partnerships that improve customers’ everyday experiences.

She also noted that the bank will continue introducing solutions that simplify financial decisions and create more value for its customers.

The Managing Director of 247 Travels, Tunji Adeyemi, said many travellers struggle to pay the full cost of international flights at once. He explained that the new partnership provides a practical solution by allowing customers to secure their preferred flights immediately and pay gradually.

According to Adeyemi, today’s travellers are looking for more convenience and flexible payment options, and the programme is designed to meet those changing needs.

FCMB’s Group Head of Premium Banking, Opeyemi Makinwa, also described the initiative as part of the bank’s efforts to provide lifestyle-focused financial services.

He said customers now expect banking solutions that fit naturally into their daily lives, adding that the new financing option gives travellers more control over their finances while making international travel more accessible.

To use the service, customers can visit the FCMB Book Now, Fly Later platform or the 247 Travelswebsite. After selecting their preferred international flight, they can complete a financing request. Once the application is approved, the loan is paid directly, and the airline ticket is issued through 247 Travels.

The launch of the programme expands the growing Book Now, Fly Later payment model into international air travel, giving Nigerians another convenient way to finance personal and business trips without the burden of making full payment at once.
