Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer delivered a strong financial performance in the second quarter of 2026, supported by higher aircraft sales, stronger operations and improved cash generation.
The company’s adjusted net income climbed by 38.4 per cent to $218.6 million in the April-June period, compared with $158 million recorded in the same quarter of 2025.
Revenue also grew significantly, rising 23 per cent year-on-year to $2.2 billion. Embraer said this was its highest second-quarter revenue ever, highlighting stronger demand across its aviation businesses.
The company’s performance has also encouraged it to raise its financial outlook for the full year.
Embraer now expects its adjusted earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) margin to reach between 10 per cent and 10.6 per cent in 2026. This is higher than its previous forecast of between 8.7 per cent and 9.3 per cent.
The company also increased its forecast for adjusted free cash flow, excluding Eve, to at least $400 million, double its earlier target of $200 million.
Embraer attributed the improved outlook to stronger operating performance, increased cash inflows from aircraft sales and prepayments, an extraordinary tax credit and tariff exemptions.
Another major highlight was the company’s growing order book. Embraer’s firm order backlog reached a record $34.5 billion, representing a 16 per cent increase from the same period last year.
The company delivered 65 aircraft during the quarter, marking its strongest second-quarter delivery performance in 16 years. The figure was 17 per cent higher than the 56 aircraft delivered in the second quarter of 2025.
Of the aircraft delivered, 20 were commercial jets while 45 were executive aircraft. The Defence and Security division did not record any aircraft deliveries during the quarter.
Embraer maintained its 2026 delivery targets of between 80 and 85 commercial aircraft and between 160 and 170 executive jets.
Its executive aviation division was one of the strongest performers during the period, generating $725 million in revenue, a 32 per cent increase from the previous year. The company linked the growth to higher delivery volumes and a favourable product mix.
The Defence and Security business also recorded strong growth, with revenue rising 38 per cent to $304 million.
Embraer said the increase was largely driven by stronger revenue recognition from its KC-390 Millennium military aircraft programme, reflecting differences in customer mix and the stage of production.
The latest results underline Embraer’s stronger position in the global aircraft market as demand for commercial, business and defence aircraft continues to support its growth.
With a record backlog, rising deliveries and improved financial guidance, the Brazilian manufacturer appears positioned for a stronger finish to 2026.
