CWAY Food & Beverages Limited has just launched a new cappuccino-flavored milk drink, targeting consumers in Lagos and the broader southwestern region of Nigeria. The company’s move reflects a commitment to innovation and to meeting the changing tastes of local drinkers.

At a rollout event, CWAY highlighted how the new cappuccino milk drink is designed to be both refreshing and filling, a creamy, coffee-infused beverage that bridges the gap between dairy drinks and café-style coffee. The company sees it as a way to bring a “sophisticated café experience … accessible to everyone, anytime, anywhere.” The drink is being positioned not just as a treat, but as a convenient, everyday beverage for Lagos’s growing urban consumer base.

This launch isn’t CWAY’s first foray into diversifying its product line; the firm recently introduced Café Coffee Milk, Fuji Probiotic, and Assam Milk Tea.  According to Arun Bhintade, CWAY’s General Manager, the company is “constantly pushing boundaries to provide Nigerians with healthy and nutritious products at the most affordable prices without compromising on quality.” To ensure wide availability, CWAY says it has developed a robust distribution network, aiming to reach both urban and more remote consumers through strategic partnerships.

Brand and Marketing Manager Awowoyin Ayobami added that the cappuccino milk drink is their “answer to the sophisticated demands of Nigeria’s growing coffee culture.” Meanwhile, the firm’s marketing director pointed out that CWAY’s innovation is the result of extensive research, careful product development, and a deep understanding of what Nigerian consumers crave.

From a business perspective, CWAY’s expansion into these niche but growing beverage categories is part of a broader strategy to capture more market share. According to financial-sector research, consumer-goods companies like CWAY face rising cost pressures, for example, “cost of sales surged by 19.61% year-on-year” due to inflation and currency depreciation. Despite these headwinds, CWAY appears confident that new, differentiated products like this cappuccino drink will help it build resilience and deepen its reach.

By expanding its premium beverage lineup, CWAY is not only diversifying its revenue streams but also strengthening its competitive position in Nigeria’s fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector. Its innovation could help buffer against rising input costs amid inflation and naira depreciation, supporting long-term growth in a challenging economic environment.
