Bitget Expands Beyond Crypto With Full Rollout of TradFi Trading Platform

Bitget, one of the world’s fastest-growing digital asset platforms, has officially opened its TradFi (traditional finance) trading suite to all users after a highly successful private beta phase. This marks a significant milestone in the company’s ambition to evolve into a Universal Exchange (UEX), a marketplace where digital and traditional financial instruments coexist in a single trading ecosystem.

During the beta test, more than 80,000 traders signed up to the waitlist, demonstrating a strong appetite for tools that go beyond pure cryptocurrency trading. Activity during the pilot phase exceeded expectations, with some markets displaying exceptional performance, most notably XAU/USD gold trading, which surpassed $100 million in single-day volume. These figures show that users embraced the expanded asset set across commodities, forex, and other macro markets.

The core idea behind Bitget’s new TradFi suite is to break down barriers between traditional financial markets and crypto trading. Instead of forcing users to manage separate accounts or switch platforms to trade gold, foreign exchange, or indices, Bitget now lets them do all of this within the same interface they already use for cryptocurrencies. This “all-in-one” experience is part of a broader vision that aims to make financial markets more accessible and streamlined for both retail and professional traders.

Bitget’s Chief Executive Officer, Gracy Chen, underscored this unified vision by saying, “This launch also reinforces Bitget’s UEX (Universal Exchange) vision, where trading is no longer segmented by asset class. By bringing gold, forex, and commodities into the same ecosystem as crypto, Bitget is positioning itself as a platform built for how modern traders actually think about risk, diversification, and opportunity.”

The platform now offers 79 TradFi instruments that users can trade directly from their Bitget accounts. These include metals like gold and silver, major currency pairs in forex markets, global indices, and hard commodities, all settled in the stablecoin USDT. This stablecoin settlement approach allows traders to participate in both crypto and traditional markets without the need for additional fiat infrastructure or bank wires, reducing friction and complexity.

This strategic extension reflects a broader trend in the digital finance industry, where exchanges are looking to diversify their offerings to retain users and capture new revenue streams. By expanding beyond traditional crypto trading, Bitget enhances user stickiness and provides alternatives during periods of crypto market volatility.

The growth of Bitget itself has been remarkable in recent years. In 2025, the exchange recorded over $2 trillion in total trading volume during the first quarter, driven by strong interest in both spot and derivatives markets. It also added millions of new users, helping push the platform’s global ecosystem to over 120 million users across more than 150 countries.

This expansion does not come without competition; other leading exchanges are also exploring ways to integrate multiple asset classes. However, Bitget’s early push into TradFi trading sets a precedent by offering a fully unified interface where digital asset traders can explore broader macro markets without leaving the platform.

Analysts and users alike see this move as part of the ongoing convergence between traditional and digital finance. Combining crypto, forex, commodities, and other markets in a single venue reflects how sophisticated traders increasingly think about diversification, liquidity, and risk management, not as separate silos but as interconnected parts of a holistic financial strategy.

By integrating TradFi and crypto markets, Bitget could stimulate broader financial participation and liquidity across global markets, potentially lowering trading costs and encouraging cross-asset investment. This may attract institutional capital and influence market dynamics, especially in regions where traditional brokerage access remains limited and digital finance adoption is rising.
