In a remarkable milestone that solidifies his influence as one of Nigeria’s most dynamic voices in leadership and youth empowerment, Omotayo Salako, founder of the 40 Under 40 Nigeria, has been conferred an Honorary Doctorate Degree by the prestigious Institute of Leadership Assessment and Development (ILAD).

The honour was officially bestowed on Thursday, 27th of November, marking a new chapter in Salako’s enduring journey of nation-building, community impact, and transformative leadership.

Founded in 2021, ILAD stands as a leading professional body and leadership think-tank dedicated to advancing ethical governance, institutional capacity, and excellence-based leadership across Africa. Through rigorous assessment, research-driven standards, and global best practices, the institute recognizes individuals who are redefining leadership within their spheres of influence.

According to ILAD, the honorary doctorate was awarded in recognition of Salako’s relentless dedication to empowering young leaders, his consistent drive for social impact, and his role in building platforms that celebrate excellence – including the acclaimed 40 Under 40 Awards, the TIME Conference, and 100 Persons of the Year.

This recognition underscores not only his achievements, but his growing reputation as a bridge-builder, ecosystem shaper, and visionary committed to unlocking opportunities for the next generation.

In response to the honour, Salako expressed gratitude and renewed commitment to his mission:

“This recognition is a profound reminder that leadership is a responsibility, not a title. I remain deeply committed to raising platforms that inspire, empower, and reshape the future for young Africans.”
Amb. Dr. (Hon.) Omotayo Salako

With this milestone, Salako joins a distinguished circle of leaders acknowledged by ILAD for demonstrating excellence through action, influence, and lasting societal contributions.

As he continues to champion leadership development, youth empowerment, and innovative community-building across Nigeria and beyond, this honorary doctorate stands as a testament to his transformative impact – and a charge to do even more.
