Access Bank has earned 16 awards at the prestigious Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2026, further strengthening its reputation as one of Africa’s leading financial institutions. The awards recognise the bank’s outstanding performance in several key areas, including customer service, digital banking, sustainable finance, support for small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs), corporate responsibility, and overall banking excellence.

According to the bank, the achievements reflect its consistent efforts to improve banking services, invest in technology, promote financial inclusion, and maintain strong business operations across different African countries. The recognition also highlights the bank’s focus on delivering innovative financial solutions while ensuring high standards of governance and risk management as it continues to expand across the continent.

Access Bank received corporate responsibility awards in Angola, Botswana, and Nigeria for its commitment to supporting communities and driving positive social impact. It also won recognition for digital banking in Cameroon, showing its success in providing modern and convenient banking services to customers.

The bank’s commitment to excellent customer service was rewarded with customer experience awards in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Kenya through the National Bank of Kenya. In addition, Access Bank was named a leading SME bank in Ghana, Nigeria, and Zambia for its efforts to provide financial support and growth opportunities for small businesses.

Its dedication to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles also earned sustainable finance awards in Rwanda and Zambia. Furthermore, the bank received the Best Bank title in The Gambia, Sierra Leone, and Zambia, recognising its overall performance and leadership in those markets.

Access Bank noted that the Euromoney Awards for Excellence are among the most respected honours in the global banking industry. The awards go beyond measuring financial results by also considering innovation, leadership, customer satisfaction, governance, strategic planning, and long-term value creation. Euromoney has organised the awards for more than 30 years, making them an important benchmark for banking excellence worldwide.

Reacting to the achievements, Access Bank’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Roosevelt Ogbonna, said the awards reflect the trust customers have placed in the bank as well as the dedication of its employees and business partners. He explained that the recognition confirms the bank’s commitment to innovation, customer satisfaction, responsible growth, and sustainable development.

Ogbonna also thanked customers, employees, and partners for their continued support, adding that Access Bank will remain focused on creating lasting value while contributing to Africa’s economic growth through quality financial services.

The bank believes the awards will further strengthen customer confidence and improve its reputation among investors, regulators, correspondent banks, development finance institutions, and multinational organisations. It also expects the recognition to support its efforts to provide better digital banking services, faster transactions, stronger security systems, and wider international banking connections.

With these latest honours, Access Bank continues to position itself as a major force in Africa’s banking sector, demonstrating its commitment to innovation, customer-focused services, and sustainable business growth across the continent.
