Wema Bank has rewarded 273 customers with a total of ₦17.96 million just one month after launching Season 5 of its popular 5 for 5 Rewards campaign. The achievement highlights the strong response to the bank’s customer appreciation initiative and its commitment to rewarding loyal customers for their everyday banking activities.

The latest season of the campaign was officially launched on May 2, 2026, as part of Wema Bank’s 81st anniversary celebrations. This edition introduced a more inclusive and structured rewards system aimed at encouraging healthy financial habits while recognizing loyal customers across different groups, including youths, women, and the mass market segment.

The campaign began with a special anniversary event held at Ikeja City Mall. During the launch, 81 lucky customers received ₦81,000 each, bringing the total amount distributed on the opening day to ₦6.56 million.

Since then, the rewards programme has continued through daily and monthly draws, producing an additional 192 winners within its first month of operation.

The Youth category has been one of the major beneficiaries of the campaign. A total of 37 students received rewards worth ₦4.4 million. Among them, 20 students were awarded ₦50,000 each through the PocketMoni reward scheme, while 17 university students received ₦200,000 each as tuition support to help with their educational expenses.

Women also benefited significantly from the programme. Under the #SelfCare reward category, 12 female customers received ₦150,000 each, providing financial support aimed at encouraging personal well-being and financial empowerment.

The Mass Market segment recorded the highest number of winners during the period. Within the first month, 120 customers received daily cash rewards. In addition, 23 customers emerged as winners in the monthly draw and each received ₦200,000. Altogether, the segment accounted for ₦5.2 million in rewards.

Speaking on the success of the campaign so far, Wema Bank’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Moruf Oseni, stated that the bank remains committed to making customer loyalty rewarding, transparent, and accessible.

According to him, the strong response from customers demonstrates that people appreciate initiatives that provide real value while encouraging responsible financial behavior. He noted that the campaign is designed not only to reward transactions but also to create opportunities for customers through regular banking activities.

Oseni also assured customers that more rewards and opportunities remain available as the campaign continues throughout the year.

To participate, customers are required to open or reactivate a Wema Bank account, deposit at least ₦5,000, maintain an average monthly balance of ₦5,000, and complete a minimum of five monthly transactions using the ALAT app, Wema or ALAT cards, or the bank’s *945# banking service.

With over ₦170 million set aside for rewards between May and December 2026, thousands more customers are expected to benefit from the initiative. The campaign further reflects Wema Bank’s efforts to promote financial inclusion, encourage positive banking habits, and deliver value beyond traditional banking services.
