Adedotun Sulaiman, a leading Super Angel investor, is fueled by a mission to develop future business leaders through holistic startup support, merging personal growth, societal impact, and profitability.

In a fireside chat with Rui Levy at the ABAN Congress 2025, Sulaiman shared his guiding principle: “The idea is to grow with the business. Learn as much as possible to become a better leader and create value. Create wealth for yourself, co-investors. Affect your community, environment with impact.”

He emphasized financial reality: “The impact is important and all that, but at the end of the day, it’s for profit.”

Sulaiman’s strategy transcends mere funding. He explained: “What I do is to listen to what they have to do. And then, we work together to decide what it takes to be taken from ideation to reality. Of course, the first thing is money but not the only thing. What I do is fund you with a bit of money then we work together to bring it into reality.”

Young founders need more, he stressed: “More than money, what most young people need is advice. That person to put them in the right direction, introduce them to the right people, opening doors for them, making them build relationships.”

He prepares them for obstacles: “It’s good to let them know the hurdles and challenges they will face on the journey. So, I am just there to guide.”

Focusing on people, Sulaiman said: “My portfolio is centered around the individual or individuals to make them realize their dream, objectives and to help them grow to become business leaders.” His LinkedIn reflects this: “I set myself on a journey of developing the next generation leadership through enterprise.”

Growth motivates him: “I’m more interested in the person for the growth that they go through along the journey of the business and making money.” Even failures teach: “Even if the business fails, we still learn. Everyone is smarter, wiser and has more experience.”

After 20 years facilitating, points out: “I facilitate people who do the doing. We help in implementation. We deliver results. I will keep supporting every young person with a vision to do their doing… through enterprise.”

Sulaiman’s model inspires impactful investing across Africa’s startups.
