The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has confirmed that candidates who took part in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) on Thursday, April 16, will receive their results on Friday, April 17, 2026.
The announcement was made by the board’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, through a message shared on the social media platform X. He explained that candidates should expect their results to be released before midnight on the stated date.
According to Benjamin, the board is working to ensure that the results are processed and made available within a short time after the examination.
He stated: “This is to inform all candidates who sat for the 2026 UTME on Thursday, April 16, 2026, that their results will be released today before midnight. An official announcement will be made to the public and posted on this page as soon as the results are available.”
He also appreciated candidates for their patience and cooperation during the process. The 2026 UTME is scheduled to run until April 22. To ensure smooth coordination and reduce overcrowding, the examination is divided into four sessions each day.
The daily sessions begin at 7:30 a.m. and continue throughout the day, ending at 6:00 p.m. This structured timetable is designed to handle the large number of candidates sitting for the exam while maintaining order at the test centres.
This year’s examination has attracted a significant number of participants. Nearly 2.2 million candidates are taking part in the UTME across the country. To accommodate this large number, JAMB has approved the use of 966 Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres nationwide. These centres are responsible for conducting the examination under strict guidelines provided by the board.
Each accredited CBT centre is expected to meet specific operational standards to ensure the examination runs without disruption. These requirements include:
Fully functional computer systems
Stable internet connectivity
Reliable electricity supply
Well-trained staff to assist candidates
By enforcing these standards, JAMB aims to provide a fair and efficient examination environment for all candidates.
Commitment to Efficiency
The board’s quick turnaround time for releasing results reflects its commitment to improving the examination process. By releasing results promptly, candidates can plan their next steps without unnecessary delays. Candidates are advised to stay updated through official JAMB communication channels for confirmation once the results are fully released.
