DEAP Capital Management & Trust Plc has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Banklink Africa Fund II to launch minerals and metals financing initiatives across Africa.

In a disclosure filed on the Nigerian Exchange, the company said the partnership is aimed at supporting Africa’s growing role in global supply chains tied to digitalisation, the energy transition, industrial manufacturing and advanced technologies.According to the statement, the collaboration will focus on providing tailored financing, advisory services and capital structuring solutions to participants across the critical minerals value chain.

The initiative is also expected to help mobilise capital for mineral projects and unlock investment opportunities within Nigeria and the wider African market.DEAP Capital explained that the agreement establishes a strategic investment framework designed to strengthen its capital base and support its long-term growth strategy.

The proposed investment structures are expected to aid the company’s repositioning as a resilient and profitable investment banking boutique with a defined sector focus. The firm noted that the MoU is expected to trigger fresh capital inflows, enhance institutional capacity and improve strategic alignment, positioning DEAP Capital to play a leading role in capital mobilisation for mineral and metals projects across the continent.

Commenting on the development, the Chief Executive Officer of DEAP Capital, Anthony Adigwe, described the agreement as a major milestone for the company, noting that it reinforces its identity as a sector-focused non-bank financial institution.

He said the partnership would support the company’s operational revitalisation, strengthen governance and execution capabilities, and enable it to scale activities across priority sectors such as mining, metals trading and project finance.

Also speaking, Chairman of Banklink Africa, Dr Israel Ovirih, said the agreement opens new opportunities for African businesses in the metals and minerals space to access global capital more efficiently.DEAP Capital said it expects the initiative to boost its market relevance, enhance shareholder value and contribute to the development of sustainable and bankable mineral projects across Africa.
