United Nigeria Airlines has notified passengers and the travelling public of expected disruptions across its flight operations after one of its aircraft suffered a bird strike on Thursday, 11 December 2025. The airline said the incident affected one of its operating aircraft, which has now been pulled out of service in accordance with its safety procedures.

In a statement from its Corporate Communications Unit, the airline explained that the aircraft will undergo a thorough inspection to determine the extent of the impact before it is cleared to resume flights. It said the decision to ground the aircraft was necessary to ensure that all safety checks are completed without compromise.

United Nigeria Airlines stressed that the safety of passengers, crew members and equipment remains its highest priority, adding that it will continue to take all required measures to safeguard its operations. The airline apologised to passengers whose travel plans may be affected by the delays, noting that the temporary disruption is unavoidable under the circumstances.

The airline appealed to travellers for patience and understanding as it works to minimise the effect of the incident on scheduled services. It also assured that its customer service team is actively providing support, including timely updates and assistance for passengers who may need to adjust their travel arrangements.

United Nigeria Airlines reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining strong safety and operational standards across all its routes, promising continued transparency as it addresses the situation.
