Ingentia Energies Limited is planning to expand its drilling activities after recording a 150% increase in production under its outgoing Interim Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Charles Odita.
The development was disclosed by the company on September 15, 2026, following a leadership transition that saw Engr. Victor Agbaroji assume office as Managing Director and CEO on September 1, 2026. Agbaroji succeeded Odita, who served as interim MD/CEO from March to August 2026.
In a letter signed by Ingentia’s Board Chairman, Chief Oseni Elamah, the board commended Odita for what it described as transformational leadership, citing the 150 per cent production increase recorded during his tenure.
Agbaroji said the company’s immediate priority is to strengthen its next phase of drilling by using the seismic acquisition programme currently underway.
“Our immediate focus is to strengthen the next phase of our drilling campaign by leveraging the seismic acquisition programme currently underway,” Agbaroji said, adding that the programme would support a more efficient drilling campaign and improve exploration and operational performance.
He also identified maximising existing assets, improving cost competitiveness, expanding the company’s portfolio and increasing the value derived from its gas resources as priorities for the new administration.
Agbaroji further said crude oil evacuation infrastructure would be critical to future production growth and that the company would intensify efforts to advance its pipeline evacuation project.
The latest plans build on Ingentia’s production expansion targets announced earlier in 2026. On April 29, 2026, the company’s then Chairman, Engr. Valentine Ugbeide, said Ingentia planned to raise production capacity to 7,000 barrels per day by June 2026 and 30,000 barrels per day by 2030. He also said the company planned to drill two additional wells in 2026.
Ingentia’s website currently lists Agbaroji as its MD/CEO and Oseni Elamah as board chairman, confirming the leadership structure following the September transition.
Agbaroji, a former Shell executive, is expected to lead the company’s next phase as it seeks to expand production, strengthen its assets and improve operational efficiency.
