Vitafoam Nigeria Plc has expanded its retail footprint with the inauguration of a new Adeniyi Jones Comfort Centre in Lagos, reinforcing the company’s strategy to strengthen direct customer engagement and enhance the in-store shopping experience in Nigeria’s growing bedding and home comfort market.
The newly commissioned facility replaces the company’s previous outlet in the same vicinity and offers a significantly larger and more modern showroom designed to allow customers to interact directly with Vitafoam’s range of sleep and comfort products before making purchasing decisions.
Speaking during the inauguration ceremony, Vitafoam Group Managing Director, Taiwo Adeniyi, said the new outlet reflects the company’s commitment to improving customer experience while bringing its products closer to consumers.
According to Adeniyi, the Comfort Centre has been designed as an interactive retail destination where customers can physically test mattresses, pillows, toppers and other foam-based products to better understand their features, comfort levels and suitability before buying.
He noted that providing customers with a hands-on shopping experience remains an important component of Vitafoam’s retail strategy, particularly as consumers increasingly seek personalised purchasing experiences rather than relying solely on online or catalogue-based product selections.
The company believes that enabling customers to compare products in person will improve purchasing confidence, increase customer satisfaction and strengthen long-term brand loyalty.
Store Coordinator, Lawal, said the upgraded showroom offers a more spacious and welcoming environment that is expected to improve service delivery while supporting stronger customer engagement.
According to him, the relocation to a larger facility will enable the company to display a broader range of products, accommodate more visitors and provide a more seamless shopping experience.
The investment comes as manufacturers across Nigeria’s consumer goods sector continue to expand their physical retail presence despite challenging macroeconomic conditions, viewing branded experience centres as a strategic channel for customer acquisition and retention.
For Vitafoam, strengthening its direct-to-consumer network also provides greater control over product presentation, customer feedback and after-sales service, while complementing its existing distribution channels across the country.
Industry analysts note that experience-driven retail has become increasingly important in the furniture and bedding industry, where consumers often prefer to physically assess comfort, durability and product quality before making purchase decisions.
