Bitcoin has just smashed its previous records, climbing above $125,000 in a stunning rally. The cryptocurrency hit $125,689, outpacing its August high of about $124,500, signaling renewed investor confidence.
Analysts say the rise comes as markets react to uncertainties over a possible U.S. government shutdown. With stock gains softening and safe‑haven bets increasing, more investors are turning toward alternatives like Bitcoin.
Part of Bitcoin’s momentum is tied to shifting government policy. Earlier this year, the U.S. House passed three major crypto‑friendly bills, a clear departure from the tough stance seen under previous administrations. This shift, combined with strong public support from high‑profile figures in politics, has helped boost the currency’s legitimacy and appeal.
Joshua Lim, co‑head of markets at crypto brokerage firm FalconX, told Bloomberg that when many assets( from stocks to collectibles) are hitting record highs, Bitcoin naturally draws in more capital amid concerns over currency devaluation.
Still, experts warn that the market may be entering volatile territory. While the upside is evident, any sudden shifts in regulation or macroeconomics could quickly reverse gains. But for now, Bitcoin remains the headline grabber, reaching heights few expected.
