In a move that has set a new benchmark for corporate appreciation in Nigeria, real estate magnate Umar Abdullahi, the Chairman of Cosgrove Investment Limited, gifted management and staff with properties valued at a staggering ₦4 billion ($2.7 million).

The surprise announcement was made during the company’s 2025 end-of-year retreat in Abuja, where Abdullahi presented the gesture not just as a bonus, but as a tangible reward for the dedication, loyalty, and exceptional performance of his team.

He emphasized that the initiative reflects Cosgrove’s “people-first” culture and a broader commitment to empowering its workforce and building sustainable, long-term prosperity for what he calls the “Cosgrove family.”

This gesture has drawn widespread praise across the business community, seen as a powerful shift from the typical end-of-year plaques and parties to genuine wealth creation for employees.

The two-day retreat also served as a critical strategic planning session, bringing together the company’s leadership to prepare for accelerated growth in 2026.

Key discussions focused on strengthening operations, improving the speed of project delivery without sacrificing quality, and enhancing customer service.

The team established a clear roadmap for the coming year, reinforcing accountability and faster decision-making across departments.

This forward-looking strategy supports Cosgrove’s ongoing expansion from its Abuja base—where it is known for developing premium smart homes with integrated technology—into several other states, including Jigawa, Kano, Lagos, and Ondo, with plans covering both residential and road infrastructure projects.
