Heirs Insurance Group, in collaboration with United Capital Plc, has launched a new initiative aimed at encouraging self care and financial empowerment among Nigerian women.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by Heirs Insurance Group on Monday in Lagos, highlighting the organisations’ shared goal of supporting women’s wellbeing and financial stability.
As part of the initiative, the partners hosted a “Yoga and Money Meet Up” on April 11. The event combined wellness activities with financial education, giving participants practical tools to improve both their personal health and financial lives.
The programme featured guided yoga sessions and stress management exercises, alongside expert discussions on insurance, investment and asset protection. It was designed to help women better understand how to manage their finances while maintaining a balanced lifestyle.
According to the organisers, the initiative reflects their commitment to making financial wellness more meaningful and accessible, especially for women navigating multiple responsibilities.
Mrs Ifesinachi Okoli-Okpagu, Chief Marketing Officer of Heirs Insurance Group, explained the importance of linking personal wellbeing with financial security.
“Self-care is not just about indulgence; it involves making deliberate choices that protect one’s physical, mental and financial wellbeing.
“For many women balancing careers, businesses and family, this initiative addresses the need to safeguard assets while managing life’s responsibilities,” she said.
She also introduced the company’s HerMotor insurance plan, a product tailored for female drivers. The plan provides protection against accidents, fire and theft, and includes round the clock roadside assistance.
Okoli-Okpagu added that the product, offered in partnership with AA Rescue, comes with added benefits such as access to discounts on wellness services through a reward programme.
Dr Odiri Oginni, Managing Director of United Capital Asset Management, also spoke on the collaboration, noting its focus on empowering women through both health and finance.
“Financial independence and personal wellness are interconnected.
“By creating platforms that address both, we are enabling women to confidently pursue and achieve their goals,” she said.
She further noted that the company’s Wealth for Women Fund was created to provide accessible investment options and long term financial security.
The organisations stated that the initiative is part of a broader effort to promote financial literacy and protection among women. Heirs Insurance Group operates under Heirs Holdings, while United Capital Plc delivers financial and investment services across Africa.
