Aliko Dangote, Africa’s richest man, has seen his net worth surge to $32.5 billion, making him the 64th richest person globally.

This remarkable growth is attributed to the impressive performance of Dangote Cement Plc and the Dangote Oil Refinery, Africa’s largest refinery.

Since January, Dangote’s fortune has increased by $2.57 billion, solidifying his position as the wealthiest Black individual in the world.

The Dangote Group’s diverse portfolio, spanning cement, sugar, salt, fertilizer, and packaged food operations, has contributed to this significant wealth growth.

The refinery’s inclusion in Bloomberg’s wealth calculations in late 2024 marked a turning point, propelling Dangote from 170th place globally to the mid-60s in just a few weeks.

Dangote’s success serves as an inspiration, emphasizing the importance of investing in productive industries and factories.

He has urged wealthy Nigerians to follow suit, advocating for sustainable growth and reduced dependence on imported goods.
