The Lagos State Government, via its Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment, has launched a dynamic program to train 600 students and fresh graduates in “Software Quality Assurance.” Held at the LCCI Conference and Exhibition Centre, Alausa, Ikeja, this initiative aims to arm young Lagosians with vital tech skills for the digital age.

Managed by QET Limited, the training falls under the Lagos State Employability Support Project, targeting skill gaps and enhancing job prospects. Mr. Akinyemi Bankole Ajigbotafe, Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, stressed the state’s focus on empowering youth with market-ready tech skills. He noted that the program primes participants for immediate employment while sparking innovation in Lagos’ tech scene.

The hands-on training dives into software testing, quality control, and global best practices, ensuring participants are job-ready. Mrs. Biodun Onayele, Permanent Secretary, lauded the program for aligning with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s vision of positioning Lagos as a tech innovation hub. She encouraged trainees to use their new skills for jobs or entrepreneurial ventures.

Participants praised the program’s practical focus and its alignment with industry needs. By equipping 600 young minds with “Software Quality Assurance” expertise, Lagos is cultivating a skilled workforce poised to drive economic progress.

This effort highlights Lagos’ commitment to fostering talent and creating opportunities in the fast-growing tech sector. As the program wraps up, graduates are expected to make waves in local and global tech industries, cementing Lagos’ role as Africa’s tech powerhouse.
