Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, is scheduled to attend and be honoured at the 6th edition of the Bodex Social Media Hangout (BSMH 6.0), a three-day digital media and thought-leadership event taking place from Friday, November 21st to Sunday, November 23rd, 2025.
The event, themed “Social Media & A.I Influence: Transforming Yourself, Services & the Society,” will be held across the University of Lagos (UNILAG) and the Radisson Blu Hotel, Ikeja. It aims to explore the rapidly changing intersection of innovation, digital influence, and ethical responsibility in the modern world.
According to the convener, Bodex Hungbo, the hangout will host a diverse group of policymakers, academics, creative professionals, legal experts, and digital strategists who are currently shaping Africa’s communication landscape. She noted that the event is setting the standard for how technology can transform lives, industries, and societies.
The first day, dubbed the “Learning Experience,” will focus on ethics, education, and youth empowerment in the era of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Held at UNILAG, the session will feature academics like Prof. Oloruntola Sunday, who will discuss “The New Media Mindset: Training Ethical Communicators in the AI Age.” Other speakers, including AI Consultant Lady Lola Adey and legal practitioner Bosun Osifowora, will cover practical skills, such as how to use AI tools for personal branding, and the crucial topics of digital responsibility and the law in a tech-driven society. Hungbo herself will moderate a youth panel themed “The Future is Now – Youth, Tech & Purpose.”
The second day, the “Influence Experience,” moves to the Radisson Blu Hotel and will delve into the professional, legal, and creative ecosystems powered by AI. Keynotes will be delivered by Mr. Gbenga Omotoso, Honourable Commissioner for Information & Strategy, Lagos State, who will speak on “Leveraging Data for Public Engagement,” and Mr. Kayode Akintemi, MD/CEO of News Central TV, who will discuss “Redefining Journalism with A.I.” The session will also feature discussions on the legal future of AI creativity, copyright, and the role of AI in healthcare, with speakers like Dr. Kelechi Okoro (The Healthertainer), who will talk about “Humanizing Medicine Through Data and Empathy.”
The Economic Angle is a pervasive theme throughout the agenda. The integration of AI is not just a technological shift but a powerful economic force. The discussions on leveraging AI for brand building, redefining journalism, and driving efficiency in healthcare directly address how businesses and professionals can enhance productivity and create new revenue streams. For instance, the focus on copyright and content ownership highlights the need for clear legal frameworks to support the emerging multi-billion-dollar “Influence Economy” and protect the intellectual property that is fueling digital commerce across the continent. Mr. Temitope Ajayi, a scheduled speaker, will contribute to the panel dissecting the economics of “The Influence Economy – A.I, Branding, and Human Connection.”
The grand finale will feature the Awards ceremony, where Governor Sanwo-Olu will deliver the keynote address and receive the “Most Friendly Digital Media Governor of the Year Award.” Other honourees include Dr. Seye Kehinde (Lifetime Media Excellence Award) and Denrele Edun (Icon of Influence Award), celebrating individuals and brands who have leveraged social media and innovation for social good, reinforcing the core vision of celebrating ethical influence and leadership across generations.
