With the holiday season approaching and travel demand rising sharply, Air Peace has announced a significant expansion of its domestic flight schedule, adding more routes and restoring services to key destinations to accommodate passengers across Nigeria. This move is a clear effort to make travel more accessible and responsive to the busy festive period.
The airline, widely recognised as Nigeria’s largest and most active carrier, said that effective from 14 December 2025, it has increased flight availability on several busy domestic corridors. These additional services are particularly focused on linking major cities and regional centres that have been experiencing a surge in traveller requests as Christmas and New Year celebrations draw near.
Among the routes receiving increased frequency are flights between Lagos and Abuja, two of Nigeria’s most important economic and administrative hubs. These flights will continue to operate alongside boosted services to popular regional destinations such as Owerri, Asaba, Enugu, Port Harcourt, Kano, Benin, and Anambra. Travellers on these routes are expected to benefit from more flexible scheduling and improved seating availability during one of the busiest times of the year.
In addition to higher frequencies on existing links, Air Peace has also enhanced connections to northern cities. Passengers flying to or from Yola, Maiduguri, and Gombe will find improved travel options through hubs like Lagos and Abuja on assigned days, offering broader access to the northern part of the country during peak travel days.
A major highlight of the announcement is the return of flights to and from Warri. The airline confirmed that daily return services on the Lagos–Warri route have been increased to two flights per day to meet growing demand. Moreover, the Abuja–Warri route has resumed operations from 17 December 2025, with tickets already on sale. This resumption reconnects travellers with a key commercial and industrial city in the Niger Delta region.
These enhancements come at a time when many Nigerians are travelling for festive celebrations and family visits. With limited capacity and higher fares having affected much of the year’s travel patterns, the airline’s decision to add seats and flights on busy routes is expected to ease pressure on travellers seeking alternatives. Air Peace has encouraged passengers to book early, noting that seats are likely to be snapped up quickly in response to the heightened demand.
In its communication, the airline emphasised its commitment to providing reliable travel options while maintaining extensive domestic coverage. The proactive addition of flights underscores a strategy to respond rapidly to market demand spikes, particularly during holiday seasons when travel typically intensifies. This consumer‑focused approach aligns with broader industry efforts to enhance service levels and operational capacity in Nigeria’s domestic aviation market.
The festive boost follows other strategic moves by Air Peace this year, including fleet enhancements and international route expansions. For instance, the airline welcomed new Embraer jets to improve capacity and efficiency, which supports both regional and national travel needs. Observers have pointed to these improvements as part of the airline’s broader plan to strengthen its market position and reconnect underserved destinations.
Furthermore, Air Peace’s domestic schedule growth complements its global partnerships and route expansions, such as agreements with international carriers that broaden connectivity for Nigerian passengers beyond the country’s borders. These developments reflect a growing emphasis on making Nigerian aviation more competitive and integrated with regional and global travel networks.
Passengers planning to travel for the holidays are advised to take advantage of the increased flight options. With more daily services and the reinstatement of key routes like Warri, Air Peace aims to deliver a smoother and more accommodating travel experience both for holidaymakers and frequent flyers across Nigeria.
